About us

This small traditional Irish pub hides just like a tiny island on the shores of Wonderland, in the city centre of Budapest, on Kálvin Square. With its small labyrinths, the little alley, where it is almost impossible to follow the numbering, the Gaelic and Celtic myths come to life, and it is indispensable to party and celebrate unstoppably. No taboos, and your sense of time will be gone as soon as the live music starts playing, and the venue starts to breathe.

Irish Cat Pub - BudapestIrish Cat, straight from a Flann O’Brien short story, flies the condemned souls here so that they can continue living their life devoted to the excessive passion for entertainment and celebrations. In the daytime, it charms its guests with the restaurant, the magnificent variety of dishes and the à la carte menu card, and with the sun’s descent, it becomes even more vivid and converts into the mystical world of revelries till the morning hours.

The wide variety of Irish whiskeys and drought Irish stouts, along with the genuine Irish atmosphere make us feel as though we were in Dublin. No taboos, and your sense of time will be gone as soon as the live music starts playing, and the venue starts to breathe.

Dancing on the counter, reverse day, St. Patrick’s Day celebrations and always very diverse and magnificent programmes have made Irish Cat the favourite place to be for many young people, celebrities and foreign visitors for over ten years.

Irish say:
"Sé leigheas na póite ól arís!
It is the cure of a hangover to drink again!"
